1170492_60132833Seasons Hospice is a organization that survives on the dreams, ambitions, and sacrificial time of many volunteers. Without the help of individuals such as you, we could not continue to provide the type and quality of care that we strive so hard to accomplish. Numerous opportunities of volunteering exist, many of which go unmet due to the level of participation at any given point in time. Please review the list below. There might be an area where you feel comfortable assisting. Our patients and their families are very special to us and deserve the best!

ADMINISTRATIVE/OFFICE: Provide assistance in the office with computer skills (MS Word, Excel, MS Publisher), filing, copying, answering the phone, etc.

BEREAVEMENT: Assist Bereavement Coordinator in making telephone calls and/or visits to our hospice bereaved families. Help with monthly mailouts of bereavement material. Additional hospice volunteer training provided.

COMMUNITY/PUBLIC RELATIONS: Assist Staff in giving out information about our hospice to the community at various health and career fairs, trade shows, etc.

COMPANIONSHIP/VISITS: Companion patients, providing a listening ear and an open and compassionate heart. Your presence is powerful. Hospice Volunteer Training required and provided at no cost.

COOKING/BAKING: Preparing meals, baking cakes, pies etc. for occasional celebrations and for bereaved families as needed

CRAFTS/SEWING/KNITTING: Assemble seasonal craft projects for patients at home or in our office. May work independently at home knitting/crocheting afghans, lap blankets, booties, etc.

ERRANDS/SHOPPING: Assist with patient-related shopping and delivery of supplies in the Tulsa Metropolitan Area

HOSPITALITY: Assist at various hospice functions by greeting people at the door, filling out nametags, serving coffee, set up and clean of food and beverages

INTERCESSORY PRAYER: Seasons Hospice is a strong, Christian-based Hospice. Praying for our patients and families is integral to their well being and to our success. You may pray at home.

INTERNSHIPS: We partner with several, local, educational institutions to provide internships in nursing, pastoral care and social work.

JOURNALISM/PHOTOGRAPHY: Help with Volunteer Newspaper by writing, editing, graphics, interviewing, mailing, etc. Have ability to take photos with digital camera which can be e-mailed to our hospice.

PET THERAPY: Take gentle, loving pet(s) to visit patients in private homes and various facilities. Pets do not have to be certified therapy pets.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES: Legal aide, accounting, estate planning, dental assistance, beautician services, massage therapy, etc. are always in demand.

SPEAKER’S BUREAU: Make presentations in churches, schools, and other organizations about our hospice.

WRITING OR VIDEOTAPING PATIENT’S LIFE STORY: Work with staff in gathering information about patient’s life to provide a permanent document to the family whether written, videotape, CD or DVD

YARD WORK/HOUSECLEANING: Mow yards, clean flowerbeds, plant flowers, raking leaves, shoveling snow, etc. Many of our patients find that they can no longer do these things nor do they have the ability to pay someone to provide this service.
