“And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” - 1 Peter 5:4
We want to educate our patients and family members to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

If you are the primary caregiver for a hospice patient, you may feel overwhelmed. There are always a lot of tasks that you need to do. From doing laundry to cooking and cleaning, you may feel like you don’t have any time for yourself. If you are grieving, every task may seem more difficult. Reaching out to a respite provider like Crown Hospice is not weakness. Knowing when to let someone you a helping hand, a kind ear, and even a shoulder to cry on is brave.

Crown Hospice of Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff understands the great pride, reward, and sacrifice of the caretaking process, and we are here to help you. We understand caregivers because we are caregivers. Consider reaching out about our hospice programs below.

Caregiver Support

Our commitment to caregivers is a part of what makes Crown Hospice Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff so special. Home hospice wouldn’t be quite as comfortable for individuals needing end of life care if not for the aid of the compassionate people that surround them.
We provide the following caregiver services:

Bereavement Services

Our bereavement services help caregivers get access to our free caregiver support groups where they can speak with other individuals who have experienced loss. We also offer grief therapy.

Medical Support

Our care teams, led by registered nurses, deliver home caregiver services by traveling to your loved one, making sure that they are comfortable, and making sure that their needs are met.

Spiritual Support Services

Our faith-based counseling services help our patients and those who love them to have a place to talk about their emotions. Our chaplains are available to visit patients and families. They will offer them words of comfort and pray with them.

Hospice volunteers assist caretakers by picking up groceries and offering companionship to patients, while our trained aides assist with offering basic medical services.
